Passive fire protection is built into the building in the form of fire seals, thermal insulation and coatings to legally comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and is used to restrict the growth and spread of fire and smoke. Guidelines ensure that in the event of a fire, occupants can exit the building without the fire spreading easily to other areas so that emergency services can enter the building safely without risk of it prematurely collapsing.
